The history of Rockville House (Redhall)

Andy examined Rockville, one of the most notable buildings in Victorian Edinburgh and indeed Scotland. He documented the remarkable history from its creation by a man obsessed with geology and masonry, and its links with Redhall Quarry, to its sad demolition in 1966.

The Coal mine in the sea -the Moat Pit at Culross

About 1590 Sir George Bruce built the world’s first known example of an undersea mine below the Firth of Forth. The presentation explained how and why this pit, as well as the rest of the Culross colliery complex, were built.
